How to remove internal traffic from Google Analytics reports

The simplest way to exclude the viists from one PC or location from reports in Google Analytics is to add an IP address exclude filter in the Settings.

First of all, check your IP address in the box below. Make a note of it. It will be in the form aaa:bbb:ccc:ddd

Then in Google Analytics, enter Edit Settings and scroll down to 'Add Filter'.

Select +Add Filter

Select "Add new filter for profile"

Select (drop-down) "Exclude all traffic from an IP address"

Type in the IP address - with backslashes \ before each fullstop. E.g. 101\.23\.79\.111

Then click on the Save changes button! And you're done!

If you want to add more then you will need to enter ranges. It's a bit more complicated and the instructions are in Google Analytics. Or you can get Chilli Digital to set up Google Analytics properly - as well as any other measurement and monitoring data collection you might require.
